Dr. Kent Pardon is Chairman of the Board at Heritage Bank & Trust and a successful veterinarian in his own right. Born and raised in southern middle Tennessee, he began working in veterinary medicine at the tender age of 14. He earned his undergraduate degree at the University of Tennessee, graduated from UT College of Veterinary Medicine in 1984 and opened his first veterinary practice the following year. A Certified Veterinary Business Leader (CVBL), he has owned and managed 10 veterinary practices in three different states, ranging in size from a small team of 11 to a staff of over 60 people.

In 2001, Dr. Pardon formed a veterinary consulting company called 4-For-Life Preferred PetCare, LLC. In 2005, he helped launch Heritage Bank & Trust. He has served on our Board of Directors since inception and as chairman since 2014. That same year, he took the reins of our veterinary finance and lending division, assisting veterinarians with practice purchases, land acquisitions, construction projects and other day-to-day financial products that veterinary management teams need to succeed.

Dr. Pardon has served on numerous nonprofit and professional boards and associations, including Kiwanis, Boys and Girls Club, Maury County Alliance and Chamber of Commerce, Columbia Academy, Tennessee Children’s Home, Christian Veterinary Missions, Veterinary Dental Society, Veterinary Partners, TVMA and AVMA.
